Hotels prices explode in Greece

According to the price comparison trivago.fr hotels, hotel prices have risen sharply this summer in Greece, Spain and Portugal.
It was in Greece that hotel rates have increased most strongly. A night in a standard double room which will cost 119 euros in August 2012 for this month is 158 euros, or 33% more. Although the price of a room had already increased last year (131 euros), in August 2014 is the month when the hotel rates are highest in Greece for three years.



For example, one night in a standard double room in Athens this month cost about 90 euros, while the same service in August 2013 was priced 77 euros, or 17% less.
Deemed cheap, Spain is actually increasing its hotel rates. One night in a standard that was displayed 101 euros in August 2013 double room now costs 114 euros, or 13% more. As in Greece, the month of August 2014 is the month when the hotel rates are the highest in the country for three years. Barcelona illustrates this phenomenon: while they also had to pay 128 euros for a hotel night in August 2013, tourists have this month to pay almost 151 euros for the same service, or 18% more.
This August was also the most expensive for three years in Portugal. A night in a standard that coûte115 euros this month was $ 105 in just the last year, 10% less double. The capital is a typical example: while the price of an overnight stay in Lisbon was 92 euros in August 2013, it amounted to 104 euros this month, 13% more.
